My Father died on March 24, 2022 and I am almost 7 months onboard. We are enroute from Punta Arenas Chile to Long Beach California USA. We are in South Pacific Ocean at the time of his death. I requested for my repatriation one month before his death but there was no convient port for crew change. According to the office my reliever has no USA visa. So my chance in going home is uncertain. I made follow-up for my repatriation but still my reliever is not ready. My father's interment was on April 2, 2022. Our ETA to Long Beach was April 6, 2022. Unfortunately we have lost our crew communication due satellite out of range. As a human I cried but I understand and make things as normal to comply my duties and responsibilities. I have to accept situations which are out of my control. We arrived at Long Beach on April 7, 2022 and completed our partial Cargo discharging on April 9, 2022. We are heading to Benicia California for final Cargo discharging but as of April 15, 2022 we are on drifting awaiting for berthing instructions. We have received information that we will do berthing on April 20, 2022 hopefully. We have the latest information that our next Port will be at Salina Cruz Mexico and Balboa Panama. I do hope I can go home before the 40 days after my father's death. I am doing my best that I can be to perform my responsibilities normally and extend the maximum level of resilient as this is my life as a Seafarer. I really miss my wife, sons, father, mother and sisters. Finally I my reliever was onboard on June 10, 2022 and my ticket on June 11, 2022. I arrived in the Philippines on June 13, 2022 and at home on June 14, 2022. I met My mother and sisters on June 16, 2022 and visited the graveyard of my father on June 17, 2022.
